Vintage Blue Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring

A classic vintage blue sapphire and diamond cluster ring set in platinum.

The piece is centrally set with a vibrant oval cut blue sapphire which is fourteen-claw set securely. The sapphire has a fantastic Royal blue colour to it and is surrounded by a cluster of fourteen round brilliant cut diamonds; all of which are claw set in a platinum setting. The head of the ring flows round nicely to a 2-millimetre platinum band.

Once worn the piece truly comes to life. The balance between the central sapphire and surrounding diamonds is extremely elegant and the ring could be worn for a variety of occasions!

The head of the ring is slightly raised which makes it easy to wear with other rings. There is a total sapphire weight of 3.97 carats. There is an estimated total diamond weight of 1.12 carats, estimated G-H in colour with SI clarity. The ring is currently a UK finger size L ½ (USA size 6 ) but this can be resized for a perfect fit. Due to the age of the piece, it is not hallmarked, however has been tested for platinum. Circa 1940-50.

For size reference, the head of the ring measures 1.4 x 1.7 centimetres and there is a gross weight of 4.5 grams.
