Citrine, Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond Nesting Bird Brooch

A beautifully unique French nesting bird brooch set in 18k yellow gold.

The brooch is predominantly set with a 13.00 carat oval shaped orange-brown citrine which forms the main body of the nesting bird. The birds head has been designed with a hammered gold affect to give the impression of tiny feathers; it is then accented with a polished gold beak and a cabochon sapphire eye. Underneath the head we see the breast of the bird which is pavé set with round brilliant cut diamonds, the tail and also the tip of the branch where the nest rests is also set with diamonds. One of the most striking aspects of the brooch is the nest itself which is handcrafted out of weaved gold pieces. Finally, cabochon rubies and sapphires have been added to bring some colour to the piece – these depict sweet little berries!

The brooch measures roughly 4 x 5cm and weights exactly 21.8 grams. Total citrine weight is approximately 13.00 carats. Total diamond weight is approximately 0.42 carats. Hallmarked as French 18k.
