A beautiful vintage Cartier sapphire and diamond floral brooch set in 18k yellow gold, circa 1960s.
The brooch depicts a flower motif beautifully handcrafted in polished gold. The central cushion-cut blue sapphire is claw-set and surrounded by 7 mixed-cut smaller sapphires, depicting the vibrant flower centre. The colour and contrast against the yellow gold make it stand out nicely when wearing. The diamond adds the perfect amount of sparkles. The brooch is secured to reverse with a pin and roller clap fitting.
Due to the design and the vibrancy of the sapphires in the piece, it beautifully stands out when worn on either a jumper, jacket or shirt. A perfect gift for a brooch lover!
The estimated weight of the central sapphire is 1.80 carats, and the estimated total weight of the additional sapphires is 0.75 carats. For size reference, the brooch measures approximately 5.4 centimetres in length and 3.4 centimetres in width, with a gross weight of 16.1 grams.
The brooch is signed and hallmarked Cartier London, K485. Lastly, this piece is accompanied by the original box, as well as a valuation for insurance and authenticity.
