Vintage 1980’s Cartier ‘Hercules Knot’ Citrine Earrings
£4,950
Out of stock
A fabulous pair of vintage Cartier ‘Hercules Knot’ citrine hoop earrings set in 18k yellow gold and stainless steel.
From the now discontinued 1980’s Hercules Knot collection, this pair predominantly feature a vibrant orange faceted oval citrine stone encased in an Etruscan styled gold setting. Surrounding the citrine is a large woven gold knot which forms the base of the hoop. Wrapped steel and gold strands curve under the lobe and the earrings are secured to reverse with a post and omega clip fitting.
Due to the size and design these earrings could be worn for a variety of occasions! The technique of mixing steel and gold together is a classic early 1980’s design and makes the earrings incredibly unique.
For size reference the earrings measure 1.8-centimetres in length and 1-centimetre in thickness. There is a combined weight of 14 grams. Each earring is signed and hallmarked Cartier, 750, ‘Or Et Acier’ (French for gold and steel), with the serial number 703609. Circa 1980’s.
