Cartier Diamond and Green Garnet Walking Panther Ring

A rare vintage Cartier diamond and green tsavorite garnet walking panther ring, from the ‘Panthère de Cartier’ collection, set in 18 karat yellow gold.

In the brand’s iconic panther motif, this ring depicts a walking panther, stylized so that it appears to be walking down the wearers finger. The panther has been beautifully crafted in 18 karat yellow gold and pavè set throughout with round brilliant cut diamonds. The maker has cleverly positioned the diamonds so that the wearer can still clearly see the naturalistic features of the feline, such as its cheeks and muscles. The tail beautifully curves around the finger and joins the graduating solid white gold 2.5 millimetre band.

Lastly the panthers face is accented with a black onyx nose and two pear shaped green tsavorite garnet eyes. The contrast of the garnets against the white diamonds is superb and although a minor feature. stand out beautifully once worn.

There is an estimated total diamond weight of 3.30 carats. These diamonds are estimated to range from D-F in colour with VVS clarity. The ring is currently a Cartier finger size 54 (UK size N 1/2, USA size 6 3/4), this can be resized for a perfect fit. For size reference the panther measure approximately 3 centimetres in length and 1.2 centimetres in width. The panther sits roughly 1 centimetre in height (from highest point whilst sat on the finger).

The panther is signed and hallmarked Cartier, 750, 54, with serial number 961524.
