Vintage Van Cleef and Arpels, Georges Lenfant Chevron Necklace

An extremely elegant vintage Van Cleef and Arpels chevron link necklace made of solid 18k yellow gold.

The necklace is exquisitely made by Georges Lenfant for Van Cleef and is composed of a staggering 260 solid gold articulated links which are all connected at an angle which creates this lovely groove design. This design subsequently has a beautiful effect once on the neck and emphasises the contrast of the yellow gold colour. As you can see from the worn image provided, once the light hits the gold we see a lovely contrast and variation of tones throughout the links.

The sequence of links continues throughout the piece and it is fully secured with a fitted fold-over clasp and safety catch. The necklace measures exactly 43 centimetres in length and 1.3 centimetre in width. There is a total gold weight of 125.10 grams. Lastly, the piece is signed and hallmarked Van Cleef & Arpels, with a Georges Lenfant stamp and serial number 76167, stamped 750.

Georges Lenfant was one of the most important jewellery designers and manufacturers of the twentieth entury. His workshop was the best in Paris and he created jewels for many famous brands. His work is very collectable.
