Victorian Floral Gold Double Locket, Circa 1870

A truly beautiful Victorian double locket pendant set in 18k yellow gold.

The piece is composed of large oval shaped locket hand engraved with a beautiful decorative floral design. The locket opens from each side with the central panel being set with the original Victorian glass piece. This glass would protect the photo and/or small object that sat within the locket. The locket hangs from a solid 18k yellow gold bail.

Due to the design and impressive size, this locket could be worn for a variety of occasions. The decorative floral design is extremely elegant which makes the overall piece incredibly charming.

The locket itself measures exactly 3.5 x 2.9 centimetres and weighs a total of 25.2 grams. The frame inside would allow a photo up to 3.0 x 2.2 centimetres. The locket can be opened from each side and is secure with a click shut fitting. This locket is an excellent example of Victorian craftsmanship and is a one-of-a-kind piece. It is hallmarked on the inside of each locket face 18 (for 18k gold), with the stylized date letter ‘p’ representing the year 1870.
