A beautiful retro sapphire swirl brooch set in 18k yellow and white gold.
The brooch is designed as three swirls surrounding a cluster of three round mixed-cut sapphires. Each swirl component is composed of three consecutive carved leaf motifs with a round mixed-cut sapphire positioned at each leaf tip. A floral cluster completes the end of each swirl and every sapphire is securely claw set in 18k white gold. The brooch is secure to reverse with a foldable pin and roller clasp fitting.
Due to the design and size, this brooch could be worn for a variety of occasions!
There is an estimated total sapphire weight of 0.75 carats and all the stones are beautifully matched in colour. For size reference the brooch measures 3.9 x 4.1 centimetres and there is a gross weight of 13.1 grams. The brooch is hallmarked 18 and 750 (for 18k gold) and stamped with the date letter K signifying the brooch is from 1961.
