A Retro diamond belt buckle bracelet in rose gold, circa 1940. The bracelet is designed as seventeen brick-link rows ending on a pointy tip channel-set with calibre-cut synthetic rubies, and a belt buckle-shaped clasp accented with a diamond and synthetic ruby flower motif. Dimensions: 23×3.8cm.
Diamonds (round brilliant-, single- and table-cut) approximately 0.50 carats in total, G-I colour, SI-I clarity.
The period that spanned World War II saw an intermitent flow of natural gemstones, which was non-existent to some countries. The result was often the substitution of synthetic and even faux gemstones in jewellery, making this bracelet a true icon of the Retro era.
