Art Deco diamond bracelet, early 1920s
A fine Art Deco diamond bracelet in white gold. Designed as an openwork panel bracelet encrusted with a combined weight of approximately 6.50 carats of diamonds, this bracelet graduates from a central lozenge-shape pierced plaque featuring a large Old Mine-cut diamond of approximately 1.80 carats, amidst an “X” diamond motif and a further embellishment of pave-set Old Mine-cut diamonds throughout the plaque. Each of the two hand-pierced geometric sections that graduate from the plaque is pave- and grain-set throughout with Old Mine-cut diamonds, with intricate backholing, to open galleries with tubular cheniers. The bracelet is doubly secured with a click-shut and safety clasp fitting. Cased by and attributed to Mappin and Webb.
