A beautiful vintage Cartier diamond solitaire trinity ring set in 18k yellow, white, rose gold and platinum, circa 1990.
The ring is centrally set with a GIA-certified emerald-cut diamond, which is securely four-claw set. The stone is set in a slightly raised open back setting that flows nicely to a 5-millimetre band made of tri-coloured gold. Due to the size and design, this could be paired nicely with a wedding and/or eternity band. Alternatively, the piece would make a fabulous cocktail ring.
The diamond is graded as 1.50 carats, F in colour with VVS2 clarity (GIA report: 5277354). For size reference, the ring is currently a Cartier size 52(UK size L ½, USA size 6), but this can be resized for a perfect fit. The head of the ring measures approximately 0.8 centimetres in length and 0.75 centimetres in width. The ring has a gross weight of 7.5 grams.
The ring is signed and hallmarked Cartier, 52, PT (for platinum), 1.50CT (for diamond weight), with the serial number 631629. Lastly, this piece is accompanied by the original GIA Diamond Grading Report (dated 1990), as well as a valuation for insurance and authenticity.
