Vintage Chopard ‘Happy Clown’ Pendant Necklace

A highly unique vintage Chopard ‘Happy Clown’ pendant necklace set in 18k yellow gold.

From the now discontinued ‘Happy Clown’ collection, the necklace predominantly features a yellow gold clown motif, pave set throughout with round brilliant cut diamonds. Due to the arms, legs, and head being articulated and moving features the diamonds twinkle elegantly from all angles. Typical of the recognisable Chopard Happy collection, the belly is formed of an open crystal panel where five rubover set stones freely float. The clowns face, hands and feet are designed in polished yellow gold which all beautifully contrast the rest of the body. The eyes are round cut sapphires and the hat is accented with a vibrant red ruby. The pendant hangs from a Chopard 16-inch chain which is not included with with price (please enquire).

Due to the design this piece could be worn for a variety of occasions. It could easily be worn by itself as a standalone piece, or alternatively stacked up amongst other pendants.

There is a total of 128 round brilliant cut diamonds set in the clown’s body, having a total weight of 1.62 carats. These diamonds are estimated F-G in colour with VVS clarity. Within the clown’s belly are two floating diamonds totalling 0.10 carats Additionally, there is a floating emerald, sapphire and ruby each totalling 0.05 carats. The pendant is signed and hallmarked on the back and foot Chopard, 750. The pendant is also engraved with the serial number 9611969.

For size reference the pendant measures 4.3 x 3.3 centimetres there is a gross weight of 24.2 grams. The chain is not included with the price but is also signed and hallmarked Chopard, 750.
