A beautiful vintage French chunky necklace set in 18k yellow gold.
The necklace is firstly composed of a mesh gold rope which acts as the base for the decorative design. Exactly 69 stylized solid gold loops hang from the gold mesh base and are all slightly articulated allowing the necklace to sit and move beautifully on the neck. Because each aspect within the necklace is an individual link once on, we see these lovely grooves in the necklace which has a beautiful effect and emphasizes the contrast of the gold colouring.
The necklace is secured with an integrated hidden clasp. Additionally, the necklace is fitted with a hidden security clasp giving the wearing that extra bit of security making the piece a perfect contender for everyday wear.
The necklace measures exactly 40 centimetres in length and 1.9 centimetres in width. There is a gross weight of exactly 149.5 grams. Typical of the age the necklace has French hallmarking’s but is not gold hallmarked. The necklace has been tested for 18k gold. Circa early 1970’s.
