Akoya Pearl Strand Necklace with Vintage Yellow Gold Clasp

An elegant white Akoya pearl strand necklace with a vintage ridged barrel clasp set in 9k yellow gold.

The necklace is set with 42 round Akoya pearls from Japan. The strand is knotted between the pearls to protect them from scratching each other. It is then secured with a yellow gold clasp with ridged detailing.

These Akoya cultured pearls displayed a white to cream body colour and a silverish-pink overtone, which shows an iridescence bright silk-like lustre under lights. The tiny growth marks of the pearls shows its natural oceanic nacre.
