A beautiful vintage Hermès ruby squirrel brooch set in 18k yellow gold, circa 1960s.
The brooch depicts a perching squirrel motif and has been beautifully hand-crafted to show its naturalistic features. A mixed-cut ruby is bezel-set in polished yellow gold, depicting the eye of the squirrel. The colour and contrast against the yellow gold make it stand out nicely when wearing. The brooch is secured to reverse with a pin and roller clap fitting.
Due to the design and the vibrancy of the ruby in the piece, it beautifully stands out when worn on either a jumper, jacket or shirt. A perfect gift for an animal lover!
For size reference, the brooch measures approximately 3.5 centimetres in length and 4.0 centimetres in width, with a gross weight of 10.9 grams.
