A stylish vintage Cartier Tank Solo wrist watch in 18k yellow gold and stainless steel, with quartz movement.

The watch features a 27 x 35mm rectangular yellow gold case with a subtle silver dial, Roman numerals and sapphire glass. The watch is quartz movement and is set with a cabochon sapphire crown, a signature of Cartier. The watch is on a beautiful black leather strap, with its original 18ct yellow gold Cartier Buckle.

The Cartier Tank Solo watch was inspired by the shape of military tanks from World War I and was designed by Louis Cartier in 1917. The watch’s rectangular case, which is a departure from traditional round watch shapes, resembles the cockpit of a Renault FT-17 tank when viewed from above. The straight brancards that run parallel to the dial are similar to the tank’s treads, and the chemin de fer minute track echoes the tracks left behind as the tank moves into battle.

The watch has been fully serviced by Cartier and is accompanied by a 2 year warranty from Cartier, valid until March 2026. As well as this, all our watches are provided with a complimentary valuation for insurance and authenticity purposes.
