A vintage pair of Cartier Pelage plaque earrings in18ct white gold, each of a geometric design, set with round brilliant-cut diamonds and cabochon onyx studs, supporting a fringe of collet-set brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Cartier, and numbered,
French assay and maker’s marks, post and hinged back fittings, case stamped Cartier.
Pelage means the fur, hair, or wool of a mammal and in this case is certainly reminiscent of the iconic panther’s coat which has become synonymous with this ultra high premium brand. Approx diamond weight 2.30 carats, of F/G VVS clarity
