Late Victorian Amethyst and Diamond Convertible NecklaceSKU: 7020564

A beautiful Late Victorian amethyst and diamond convertible pendant necklace set in silver and gold.
The piece is firstly composed of a riviere style necklace made up of twenty marquise cut amethysts and collet set old mine cut diamonds. Hanging from the centre of the necklace is a perfectly matched amethyst and diamond floral pendant. Typical of the era this piece is beautifully crafted, and the pendant aspect has been cleverly designed to detach from the riviere necklace. The loop the pendant hangs from securely folds up out of sight giving the wearer the option to wear the piece in two ways.
Once on the necklace truly comes to life. The vibrant purple amethysts stand out beautifully on the neck and the marquise cuts reflect the light elegantly. The additional white diamonds give a perfect amount of sparkle to the piece. Because the pendant aspect is easily detachable this gives the piece a lot more versatility.
Estimated to be from the early 1880’s (Late Victorian) this is a true one of a kind piece.
The necklace has been assessed by our in-house gemmologist as having approximately 31 carats of marquise cut vibrant purple amethysts. There is an estimated total diamond weight of 1.50 carats (33 diamonds in total) which range from F-I in colour with VS1 clarity.
The necklace measures exactly 15 1/2 inches (39 centimetres) in length and there is a gross weight of 23.2 grams. For size reference the detachable pendant measures 3.1 x 3.3 centimetres.
