Victorian Opal and Old Mine Cut Diamond Heart Ring
A truly unique Victorian opal and old mine cut diamond heart ring set in the era’s iconic silver-on-gold setting.
The ring is predominantly set with a stunning heart cut opal which is double four claw set to centre. This opal has a stunning play of colour within it and alternates between various shades of turquoise, purple, green and pink. Surrounding this opal is a heart shaped halo of collet set old mine cut diamonds. To the top and bottom of the heart opal we see a further two smaller old mine cut diamonds in rub-over settings for extra embellishment.
This ring is a true one-of-a-kind piece and once on the finger comes to life. The head of the ring has a lovely spread across the finger and sits nice and flat, so it doesn’t catch on items such as clothing throughout the day. It is a fine example of Victorian design and craftsmanship.
There is an estimated total old mine cut diamond weight of 3.20 carats. These range from G-H in colour with ranging clarity of VS1-SI1. The ring is currently a UK finger size M (roughly a USA size 6) but this can be resized before dispatch for a perfect fit.
For size reference the ring head measures 2.3 X 2.1 centimetres (from the widest points) and there is a gross weight of 5.2 grams.
