Edwardian Opal and Diamond Pendant/Brooch

A vibrantly coloured Edwardian opal and diamond convertible pendant/brooch. The central round opal measuring approximately 8mm in diameter is talon-claw set in an open backed yellow gold mount. Twenty seven Old European cut diamonds are bezel set and grain set in a trefoil foliate pattern around the opal in platinum on the front with a yellow gold backing. Secured with a detachable screw fit brooch pin with bar, or pendant bale. Measuring approximately 30 x 32 mm, the diamond weight is estimated to be approximately 0.80ct.
