A highly unique vintage Piaget twenty dollar coin manual wind watch set in 18k yellow gold.
The case of the watch is composed of an 1889 ‘Double Eagle’ gold coin; set to the front with the iconic Liberty head, and to the back with the double eagle. Beautifully hand crafted, the coin is set to the right side with a clasp which when pushed uncovers the Piaget watch face. Although the case has a diameter of 35-millimetres, the watch itself measures 24-millimetres. The face is set with a rose gold dial, black batons, the original watch hands with a manual wind movement.
Uniquely, the watch face is also on a hinge fitting which allows it to be lifted out of the casing and propped upwards. This allows the face to be viewed from all angles. The watch is currently fitted to a matching 18k yellow gold mesh strap. Once lying flat measures 18-centimetres.
